Words can’t even express how BLESSED I feel to be chosen as a nominee for the 2019 Ada Lovelace Award in the Stem Educator category. ✨ I am in awe and truly honored to be chosen among so many outstanding #womenintech. The past few months have been such a whirlwind for me both emotionally and professionally so this came to me as such a HUGE surprise. Nearly 90 women in the tech community were nominated, representing all six #GulfSouth states of Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia, Texas, and Florida. Ladies, the impactful work that we are doing for our community truly matters, BIG or small. We must keep working to bridge the gaps in the tech and creative industry so that all women can fulfill their biggest and wildest dreams. I am grateful for @thewallsproject & @thefuturesfund for paving a way for me and pushing me to constantly believe in myself no matter what. I’m so thrilled and still a bit speechless. I normally don’t post selfies on this page but I thought for this one that I’d make an exception. Today is one of those days that I feel joyous and extremely happy in the moment (tbh days like these have been very scarce for me in the past few months). I’m discovering that sometimes you just have to be still, look around at all of your blessings, and celebrate yourself. This photo will serve as a reminder that there is beauty in every moment you just have to be present to experience it. ✨

Photography continues to take me to so many places in life. It’s a passion of mine that honestly never ceases to amaze me. The more work that I put in, the more glory that I get out of it. Everyday I battle with the doubts and fear of if it’s all really worth it. I’m working on letting go of that fear and as I do it becomes clearer everyday that I’m meant to use this gift. There is only more to come. This is still just the beginning. ✨
